Investigating rotations

This is for my Year 8 top/middle set. The aim is that they teach themselves the important concepts for the topic.

Key words. Anagrams are shape, point, direction, tracing paper, angle, symmetry, order, centre, object and image.

Next, just basic rotations, no centre. Aim for them to say how much you need to turn and what direction. Second half, they draw the shape and then rotate it.

Rotational symmetry: aim to say that some things look the same when you turn them, before you get back to the beginning. Notes at the bottom to write about the order of rotational symmetry for regular shapes.

Finish with rotating around a point. Combining there knowledge from Part 1, they should be able to say you need to define the centre, the direction and the angle.
